It is also based on the assumption that you will be visiting Egypt and Jordan as a tourist, so all advice provided only relates to tourist visas. If you are going to be traveling on a UK passport, you can book Egypt and Jordan tours from UK without losing any sleep over visa requirements. If you have time to spare, you can apply for your visas before you travel. However, it is probably a lot easier and more convenient to obtain a Visa on Arrival in both Egypt and Jordan.

Egypt has also launched an online e-Visa service. This allows you to apply for your visa from the comfort of your living room. To use this service, you do however need to register for an account. Doing so is quick and easy, and can be done here. Once you have register, completed the visa application form and submitted payment, you application will be processed and then you will then be able to download and print your visa. At the time of writing, fees for Egypt tourist visa were:

• 60-day Single Entry visa from embassy or consulate – £20.00
• 90-day Multiple Entry visa from embassy or consulate – £32.00
• 30-day Visa on Arrival – $25.00
• 60-day Single Entry e-Visa – $25.00
• 90-day Multiple Entry e-Visa – $60.00

While Jordan does not at this point offer online visas, it is easy to obtain a Single Entry 30-day Tourist Visa on arrival. These visas cost 40 JOD (about £45). Multiple Entry visas for Jordan can only be obtained from Jordanian embassies and consulates. If you are going to be spending less than one full day in Jordan, no visa is required. What Visas Do We Recommend UK Visitors?

There must also be at least six months validity remaining in your passport. This is calculated based on the date on which you are scheduled to leave each country.

If you don’t have 6 months validity remaining, it is unlike that you will be granted visas for Egypt and Jordan. Even if you manage to obtain an e-Visa, if you don’t have 6 months validity remaining, immigration official have the authority to deny you entry.
