DAY 1 – Arrive Cairo for Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay Package

When you land in Cairo for your Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay, your tour manager will meet you at the airport and offer any assistance you may need, and then he will escort you in a clean and modern air-conditioned vehicle to the hotel where you will be staying for the first two days of your stay in Egypt.

When you get to the hotel, he will get you checked in, and then he will discuss your travel itinerary with you and confirm pick-up times for your upcoming tours. After this, he will leave, and you will have the rest of the day to yourself. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel, or head out into into the city to do some exploring on your own.

DAY 2 – Giza Pyramids; Sakkara Necropolis, and Overnight Train to Aswan

Shortly after you have finished your breakfast, you will check out from the hotel, and you will begin your day with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza; the Valley Temple, and the Sphinx, all of which are located within the same ancient necropolis. While at this site, you will also have the option of visiting the Solar Boat Museum. Tickets for the museum can be purchased onsite but are not included in the price of our 12-day travel packages.

After spending some time at the pyramids, you will be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, and then you travel to Sakkara to visit another ancient necropolis. This site is most famous for its Djoser Pyramid which was the first pyramid ever built in Egypt.

Explore the necropolis at leisure, and then it will be time to travel back to Cairo so that we can get you to the Giza Train Station in time for you to board a clean and comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan. This evening you will be having your dinner in your compartment on the train.

DAY 3 – Nile Cruise Embarkation and Aswan Tour

When your train pulls into Aswan Railway Station shortly after you have had your breakfast, one of our tour representatives will meet you, and then you will travel to the port area where you will board your elegantly appointed 5-Star Nile cruise ship that will be your home on the Nile for the next 3 nights of your stay in Egypt. Enjoy lunch aboard the cruise ship shortly after boarding, and then it will be time for your first excursion.

All tours during your cruise will be with a small group of our other clients and one of our expert Egyptologist tour guides. Today’s tour begins with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, followed by a visit to the breathtaking ancient Temple of Philae. After visiting this timeless wonder, you will be taken to see the giant Unfinished Obelisk, and from there you will head back to the cruise ship.

Enjoy a good dinner aboard the cruise ship in the evening, and spend this night of you cruise on the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 4 – Kom Ombo Temple; Edfu Temple, and Overnight at Esna

Enjoy breakfast on the Nile while you cruise to Kom Ombo, and then once you arrive, your tour guide will take you to see the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple. Essentially two temples in one, this impressive ancient Egyptian structure was dedicated to two gods: Horus the Elder, and Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world.

Following your tour, you will return to the cruise ship, and it will then cruise to Edfu. Enjoy a good lunch on the Nile, and then your tour guide will take you to see the ancient Temple of Horus, which is the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple ever discovered in Egypt. It is also one of Egypt’s biggest ancient temples.

Return to the cruise ship after your tour, and enjoy the rest of the afternoon to yourself while you cruise to Esna. This night of your Cruise will be spent on the Nile at Esna.

DAY 5 – Sail to Luxor with West Bank and East Bank Tours

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the Nile while you cruise to Luxor. When you arrive in Luxor, your tour guide will then accompany you on a Luxor West Bank tour to see three of the area’s top attractions. Visit Valley of the Kings; the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon during this tour.

When your tour is over, you will head back to the cruise ship for lunch, and then your guide will take you to see two more ancient Egyptian monuments, this time on the East Bank at Luxor.

First you will visit Karnak Temple, and from there you will be taken to see Luxor Temple. Both of the two sites are among the most visited archeological monuments in Egypt. After your Luxor East Bank tour, you will head back to the cruise ship in time for some afternoon tea. The are no other tours scheduled for this day of your Nile cruise so you will have the rest of the day to yourself. Enjoy dinner and the last night of your Nile cruise on the Nile at Luxor.

DAY 6 – Fly to Sharm and Leisure Time

Enjoy one last breakfast on your Nile cruise ship, and then you will disembark from your cruise, and you will travel to Luxor Airport for your Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh flight. When you reach Sharm, you will be met at the airport, and then immediately transferred to the hotel where you will be staying for the next four nights of your holiday in Egypt.

NOTE: Most Luxor to Sharm flights are indirect flights that fly via Cairo.

DAY 7, 8 and 9 – Leisure Time and/or Optional Excursions

Your Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay vacation is more than only a sightseeing holiday in Egypt; it is also a time for you to relax and unwind, and this is what these next three days are all about. Enjoy lazy days on the beach, or enjoy a range of optional excursions or activities, such as wind surfing; deep sea fishing; SCUBA diving; snorkeling, and so much more. Sharm is a popular destination among people of all ages.

There are so many thing to see and do in this charming Egyptian city which is often referred to as Egypt’s Red Sea Rivera. Our tour representative will also be more than happy to make any necessary arrangements on your behalf.

DAY 10 – Flight to Cairo and Leisure Time

Begin the 10th day of your Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay vacation with another good hotel breakfast, and then at the confirmed time, our tour representative will meet you, and you will then travel to Sharm El Sheikh Airport where you will board a flight back to Cairo.

Your tour manager will meet you when you land in Cairo, and he will then escort you to the hotel where you will be staying for the last two nights of your stay in Egypt. Your tour manager will get you checked in at the hotel and then you will have the rest of the day for yourself.

DAY 11 – Cairo Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and then you will be picked up and you will head out for a tour of Cairo, with your first stop being at the Egyptian Museum. While at the museum, be sure to check out the Treasures Room which houses all the artifacts that were recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamen. The museum also has a Mummies Room where you can see a few real mummies, but this requires an additional ticket which is not included in your Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay tour package. A ticket can however be purchased at the museum.

Once you are finished at the museum, you will be taken to see the Salah El Din Citadel and the very impressive Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. This beautiful old mosque is open to Muslims and non-Muslims, but visitors are required to dress conservatively if they wish to look around inside the mosque.

Following your visit to the citadel, you will be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, and then you will head to the Khan el Khalili Bazaar where you will have some time to shop and explore this very vibrant marketplace where vendors have been trading their wares ever since the 14th century.

Next, you will be taken to an area known as Coptic Cairo where you will visit the Hanging Church of Cairo and the Ben Ezra Synagogue before finally returning to your hotel for your last night in Egypt.

DAY 12 – Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay Ends and Final Departure

Your 12-day travel adventure in Egypt has now come to an end. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then at the appropriate time your tour manager will meet you and he will accompany you to Cairo International Airport for your flight out of Egypt.
