5 Day MS Mayfair Nile Cruise From Luxor to Aswan

DAY 1 – MS Mayfair Nile Cruise Embarkation and East Bank Tour

When you arrive at the airport or the train station in Luxor, one of our tour managers will be standing by to meet you and assist you, and to escort you to the MS Mayfair cruise ship for embarkation. Shortly after you have boarded and checked in you will be served your first onboard lunch, and then you will enjoy your first tour.

Today, you will be taken to see the East Bank’s two most famous ancient attractions: Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple.

After visiting both of these sites, you will then head back to the ship in time for some afternoon tea. There will also be an authentic Egyptian Belly Dance show on board the vessel in the afternoon and an on-board disco in the evening. You will be spending the first night of your MS Mayfair Nile cruise on the Nile in Luxor.

DAY 2 – Luxor West Bank Tour and Cruise to Esna

Wake up on the Nile at Luxor and enjoy a good breakfast. Shortly after you have eaten, you will leave the ship, and you will be taken to see the West Bank’s most famous ancient sites: Valley of Kings; the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. While you are at the Valley of Kings you will have the opportunity to see the tomb of King Tutankhamen, but count on only seeing it from the outside. There are also more than 60 other tombs at this necropolis, so there is plenty to see.

After your West Bank Tour comes to an end, you will then return to the cruise ship in time for some lunch, and it will then cruise Esna. Later in the day, afternoon tea will be served, and there will also be a short Captain’s Welcome cocktail party before dinner and an on-board disco later in the evening. Tonight you will be sleeping in the comfort of your cabin on the Nile at Esna

DAY 3 – Cruise to Aswan with Excursions at Edfu and Kom Ombo

Today, your MS Mayfair Nile cruise gets off to an early start, with breakfast being served while you cruise to Edfu. On arrival at Edfu, you will disembark, and you will be taken to see Horus Temple which is the best-preserved temple ever discovered in Egypt. Enjoy some time exploring this incredible site, and then you will head back to the MS Mayfair, and it will set sail for Kom Ombo.

Enjoy a good lunch on board, as well as some afternoon tea, and then you will be disembarking for a visit to Kom Ombo Temple. This is essentially a double temple in one, and was originally dedicated to two different gods: Haeroris the falcon-headed god, and Sobek the crocodile god.

After you visit to Kom Ombo Temple, you will once again board your MS Mayfair Nile cruise ship, and it will sail to Aswan where you will be spending the night on the Nile.

DAY 4 – Half Day Aswan Sightseeing Tour

After you have had your breakfast today, you will leave the ship, and you will be taken to see three of Aswan’s most famous monuments: the Aswan High Dam, the Temple of Philae and the Granite Quarries. While all three sites are fascinating, the Temple of Philae will no doubt be the highlight of your tour today, and you will find it hard to believe that the entire temple had to be moved to higher ground following the construction of the Aswan High Dam. After your tour, you will then return to the ship, and the remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy as you wish.

As usual, lunch and afternoon tea will be served on board the boat, and there will also be a Nubian Folkloric show in the afternoon before dinner. The last night of your MS Mayfair Nile cruise will once again be spent on the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 5 – Cruise Disembarkation and Felucca Boat Trip

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the ship, and then it will be time for you to check-out and disembark. However, before your MS Mayfair Nile cruise ends, you will first enjoy sailing on a traditional Felucca boat to view the Agha Mausoleum from the water.

Once your Felucca trip ends, you will then be driven to Aswan Airport or Aswan train station, depending on what your onward travel plans are. Your Nile cruise has ended, but you will have had an experience which you will almost certainly never forget.
