Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive in Egypt for your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Nile Cruise Holiday

When you land at the airport in Cairo we will be there to meet you and to transfer you to your hotel in Cairo where you will be staying for your first two nights in Egypt. After getting you checked-in at the hotel, your tour manager will discuss your travel itinerary with you and also confirm a meeting time for the following day. After this you will have the rest of the day to yourself.

DAY 2: Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum and Khan el Khalili

Today yo will be picked up from your hotel shortly after breakfast and then you will travel to Giza on the outskirts of Cairo to see Egypt’s iconic pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. When you are finished at the sitem you will be taken to a good local restaurant for some lunch, and then it will be time to visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

You last stop of the day will be at Cairo’s biggest and oldest market, the bustling Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Do some shopping or simply explore this fascinating 14th-century bazaar, and then when you are ready, you will be driven back to your hotel.

DAY 3: Transfer to Aswan and Aswan Tour

Today you will check-out from your hotel in Cairo shortly after breakfast and then you will travel to Cairo Airport to board a short flight to Aswan. One of our Egyptologist guides and a driver will meet you when you land in Aswan, and you will be taken for a tour to see the Aswan High Dam, the ancient Temple of Philae, and the Unfinished Obelisk.

Once your tour ends, your tour ends, you will then be transferred to your hotel in Aswan where you will be staying for this night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Nile cruise holiday.

DAY 4: Abu Simbel Tour and MS Salacia Nile Cruise Embarkation

Today you will check out from your hotel quite early and then you will travel to Abu Simbel to see two of Egypt’s most breathtaking ancient monuments: the rock-cut temples of Ramses II and his wife, queen Nefetari. No amount of word can accurately describe just how magnificent these two temples are. After spending a bit of time at the temples, you will then travel back to Aswan, a trip that takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.

On arrival in Aswan, you will immediately be taken to board the beautifully appointed MS Salacia cruise ship that will be your home on the Nile for the next three nights of your trip. Enjoy lunch shortly after board and then will have the rest of the day to yourself. This night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Nile cruise holiday will be spent on the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 5: Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple and Overnight at Esna

Enjoy your breakfast on the Nile at Aswan, and then your cruse ship will cruise to Kom Ombo where you will be taken to see the very unique Kom Ombo Temple complex that was dedicated to two different gods: Horus the falcon-headed god and Sobek the crocodile god. After your excursion you will return to the ship in time for lunch and it will then cruise to Edfu.

On arrival at Edfu, you will enjoy another shore excursion, this time to see Egypt’s best preserved ancient cult temple, the Temple of Horus. There are no other excursions today, so once you get back to the cruise ship you will have the rest of the day to yourself. While you are relaxing, your cruise will travel to Esna. Dinner will be served at the usual time and you will spend this night of your cruise on the Nile at Esna.

DAY 6: Cruise to Luxor and Luxor East Bank Tour

Your cruise ship will depart from Esna quite early and it will cruise to Luxor. When you reach Luxor you will enjoy a shore excursion on the West Bank to see three incredible monuments: Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon.

After your tour, you will return to the cruise ship and then you will be free to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish. Lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner will be served at the usual times, and you will spend the last night of your cruise on the quiet waters of te Nile at Luxor.

DAY 7: Cruise Disembarkation, East Bank Tour and Fly back to Cairo

After breakfast, you will check-out and disembark from your cruise, and then you will be taken to see Luxor Temple and the vast Karnak Temple complex, both on the East Bank at Luxor. After your tour, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo.

When you land in Cairo your tour manager will once again meet you and then escort you to your hotel in Cairo where you will be staying for the last night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Nile cruise holiday.

DAY 8: Your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Nile Cruise Holiday Ends – Final Departure

Your fantastic travel adventure in Egypt has come to an end. At the appropriate time, your tour manager and a driver will fetch you and they will then transfer you to Cairo Internation Airport in time for you to board your fight out of Egypt.
